Our members got behind the 3BA Christmas in July Appeal by donating blankets and non-perishable food items. All donations go towards those in need this winter. Donations can be made at 56 Lydiard St Nth Ballarat.

Trivia Night 2008 - Another Hit

The annual Young Ambition Trivia Night and Charity Auction was another very successful event on Friday 25 July. This year the event supported Ballarat Foundation’s Back to School Voucher Program. The program provides greatly needed support to Ballarat students in need of financial assistance.

A special thank you goes to Sarah Knowles, event coordinator, for all the time and energy she put into making the evening run without a hitch!

We were very pleased to induct another new member, Belinda Smith from RGS Insurance, at our meeting in late May. Belinda has already helped out at the Habitat for Humanity Building Site Clean up (see Projects tab) and we look forward to her many more contributions to the club. Welcome Belinda.

Murray to Moyne Fundraiser Ride - April 08

On the 5 and 6 April, several of our members again participated in the Murray to Moyne bicycle relay. Troy McIlvena, Mark Patterson, Leon Wilson and Ross Huntington all did a stirling job on the bikes this year, riding through all conditions and into the night on the Saturday. Darren Trigg and Samantha Davies did a great job as support crew, from driving the riders bus to erecting tents, every bit helps.

All proceeds from the dinner, raffle ticket sales and rider sponsorship will be donated to the Leukemia Foundation.

Murray to Moyne Fundraiser Dinner - March 08

A band local Rotarians are again in preparation for the Woody’s Murray to Moyne cycle relay. As one of several Ballarat teams, the cyclists ride 520km over a 24 hour period, with this team raising money for the Leukemia Foundation.

As part of their fundraising activities, the Rotary Clubs of Young Ambition and Ballarat West, are hosted a dinner on Tuesday March 11 at Portico’s Restaurant. Guest speaker was the champion triathlete, Emma Carney. Emma has been world no 1 for four consecutive years, as well as winning many Australian championships.

Samantha Davies’ invited members and families to join her for a bbq and to inspect the fruits of their labour, her new garden.

Samantha says “The dedicated YA team got in and did the hard work and the results from the work are fantastic, I always have a smile on my face when I look at my new garden and could be no more satisfied by the teams work.”

SpringFest BBQ and Coin Toss - November 07

GREAT JOB yesterday….aside from the rocky start finding our site and then changing from that site anyway. I thought the day ran very smoothly. Enormous Thankyou to Ross, Leon, (Darren)Triggy, David & Bec for all the running around! the board painting crew, umbrella getter, sign writers our BBQ chefs, Coin toss money collectors and spruikers…. chief onion cutters, bread unwrappers and customer servers.

Special mention to Brendan Dodd Signs who kindly donated the large printed lake map for our coin toss board with no real notice!! We really appreciate the efforts of Brendan.

We will announce the final takings from both sites at the next meeting.
